PHONE SYSTEM - AFTER HOURS
Our main office number is 802-658-2320.  After the office closes this number will allow you the option of connecting with our answering service; a representative will then page the physician on call who will call you back.  The answering service will ask for the following contact information: a reliable call-back number, the child’s name and date of birth, your chief concern and the name of your primary pediatrician.  If you choose to leave a voice mail message, follow the prompts in the system and you will receive a call back when the office reopens.

PHONE NURSES
Pediatric Medicine has triage nurses answering the phone during office hours. They are available Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM until 5:00 PM to help you with your child’s acute illness or answer questions on routine childcare. The nurse is available from 9:00 AM until midday on weekends and holidays.  They are all experienced and follow nationally accepted guidelines of care, which are routinely reviewed by the physicians.

If you have a question they cannot answer, a message will be left for your primary pediatrician, and you will be called back by the nurse or the doctor. The on-call pediatrician will take any urgent messages for doctors who may be out of the office.

If you have a general question about your child’s care or require a prescription refill, we encourage you to call after 10:00 AM so priority may be given to children needing urgent care that day.
